What Is Carbon Positive?
Most companies and their processes use energy. Whether it’s the electricity running their computers, emissions from vehicles, or to distribute a product.
Carbon Neutral means that the carbon dioxide produced from an activity is measured, and the same amount of CO2 is removed from the atmosphere, usually through an environmental project.
Carbon Positive goes one step further; removing not only the same amount of carbon dioxide, but removing more than the measured amount of that activity.
Did you know that to send 1 email, the electricity used is responsible for 4g of CO2 emissions?
How Is Your Mortgage Application Carbon Positive?
We are proud to announce a partnership between Greenacre and Carbon Neutral BritainTM, who have calculated the emissions released from each mortgage application. Allowing us to award our clients with a Climate Positive Mortgage Application certificate on completion.
We have calculated the cost with Carbon Neutral BritainTM for clients carbon emissions produced during their house buying process, which is estimated to be 0.338 kg CO2 per completion.
This includes your journeys to see us, the estate agent and solicitor, the surveyor visit and removals – it all creates time, expense, and carbon emissions.
By purchasing your mortgage with Greenacre you will have, at no cost to you, offset your mortgage application emissions by not just the estimate emissions, but 1000 kg CO2 to ensure a climate positive application.
